while i am still riding this peach sangria high, i just want to put this out there into the world...
i have some great friends. great, wonderful, fabtastic friends. i love them and they truly make this world a better place. a while back i wrote about how i only let certain people into my friendship circle. i am not one to just randomly say someone is my friend. i do not collect people as friends just because they are fun to go clubbing with. i realize that some people are like that, which is fine, but it's not for me. when you're in, you're in. when you make trouble, you're out! the truth of it is, there isn't enough time or space in life to deal with the "bad eggs." the girls that say they're your friend and then try to argue, give attitude, take their bad mood out on you, or so co-dependent that the friendship just becomes about them and their issues. it's one thing to be supportive of life's problems or annoyances, and another thing to want a mother-figure. the latter is something i just can't deal with.
one of my longtime, dearest friends said the sweetest, most sincere truth that any of us gals can ever say. something along the lines of, "i just want to wake up and be loved every day." i really shouldn't use quotes because that's probably not exactly what she said but it was along similar lines. it almost brought tears to my eyes because it is such a heart-felt, simple request that some are just not able to provide.
joni mitchell said,"you have to try to make it through this life with a good heart." and i truly believe my dear friend will make it with that heart of hers.
i'm glad for the friends that i have. they keep my thoughts in a good place and remind me that this life really is about the simple things.
p.s. this post was started last night. i am no longer riding my peach sangria high!
